I read this book twice before. Every time I reread it I see something I didn’t see before. This series is beautifully written about the classic story Cinderella in the most modern and unique way I’ve ever seen. Marissa Meyer weaves fairytales together in such a way that you don’t see the story it’s based off of at first, but as you continue reading, you see the obvious connections. Cinder is pretty straight forward. A funny, shy mechanic who is half human, half cyborg just trying to find her way in the world with her mean step mother and annoying step sisters. As the story goes on, Cinder falls in love with the Emperor of New Beijing, finds out she could be a part of the biggest enemy the nation has ever seen, and ends up on the wrong side of the law. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the steam punk theme, fairytales, and just a good story that continues on throughout the series.
